When Valentine's Cards go very wrong

A few days ago Tyler made some, umm, "unique" little valentine's for his little neighborhood friends. They were covered in stickers and embellishments attached with silver glitter glue. I've since discovered that the glitter glue is not necessarily the best adhesive and all the little embellishments kept falling off. In an effort to spare his feelings, I figured I'd glue them back on with some regular glue while he was napping. Of course that wasn't holding either, so I broke out the super glue. Bad mistake. Yes, I literally somehow glued my fingers together, and yes, in case you are wondering, it does bond instantly! I had to pry my fingers apart, leaving small injuries to both fingers. Granted it was just a small little dab of glue that had seeped out from under a small plastic heart. I can only imagine what more would do. Only I could injure myself while assisting with preschool Valentine's Day cards!

In completely unrelated news, Tyler was up about a gazillion times last night, finally waking for good between 4-5am. Ugh. He was whining and crying all morning, but then he was insisting he was fine because he didn't want to miss his preschool Valentine's Day party. I finally decided to bring him and just let him hand out his cards (and collect his treats of course). His teachers assured me he was fine and was perfectly healthy enough to go to school. So I let him stay for an hour before picking him up for his doctor's appointment. It was a good compromise though, because he missed out on all the cake and junk (which he didn't know about) but did get to have the much-anticipated fruit salad. Anyway, good thing I brought him in to the doctor's. Double ear infection. The fun never ends. So now, not only are we doing eye drops 3 times daily, we now have Amoxicillin twice daily and Mucinex (for his cough), Vicks rub, and a humidifier as necessary. Good news is, he's apparently not contagious.

So, needless to say, I'm beat after having gotten little to no sleep last night. Darn it, if I hadn't glued my fingers together I might have had a chance to nap today while he napped.

Sty away from that super glue! You need to get as much sleep before the baby comes as you possibly can.
