Pumpkin Festival!

It's not quite the same when you don't have to bundle up in a sweater, but we had fun anyway!

My friend, Andrea, told me about this festival at Hunsader Farms. I had originally planned on bringing the boys yesterday when she and Karen were going, but I ended up having to make a quick stop at the doctor's instead. So today we went with the whole family!

We got there shortly after opening and Tyler immediately spotted a bouncy house slide. He absolutely loved it!
From there we watched a small circus performance. I was pretty excited about that because I've been wanting to take Tyler to the circus but the price was always prohibitive because I didn't want to waste the money to have Tyler freak out and want to leave (he's afraid of dark places and clowns). Well, this was perfect and Tyler got over his fear of clowns and really enjoyed himself. He was especially fascinated with "Miss Rebecca" and her many acrobatic talents.
Then was a quick stop for lunch (hotdogs, nachos and lemonade), followed by cotton candy. Then we made another stop to listen to some music while I fed Jason.

From there we stopped to watch them shoot pumpkins and corn out of some sort of cannon-like thing. Yep, that's right.

Then it was off to our hayride, which both boys really enjoyed (well, Jason must have, since he fell back to sleep).

Then it was time for some more food and music (yum, funnel cake!).

Then Jason needed to eat again.
And we got some ice cream too (how could you NOT after you watch them make homemade ice cream).

Then Tyler needed to try the barrel train ride.

And Jason needed to eat again.

Then we spent some time in the "pumpkin patch". Tyler found the smallest pumpkin there was (lucky for us, as far as the budget is concerned).

Then there was on final trip down the huge bouncy slide while I trekked back to the car to feed Jason yet again before heading back home.

All in all we had a WONDERFUL time. The only disappointing thing is that we could not see and do it all, as we really needed to get the boys out of the heat. As you can see, they were beat!

Glad you had a fun time. We're going to go tomorrow since it's supposed to be much cooler. It was very hot on Friday. Tomorrow should be much better, especially since we'll be sitting out in the sun to watch the bike show.
