Today has been a LONG day. However, it started out on the right foot, by Jason having slept through the night again. Woohoo!
Our morning started off pretty low-key. We hung around due to a repair man coming out to fix the dishwasher and an insurance person to come take a look at the damaged vehicle from the storm. Jason had a nice jar of babyfood, which he wanted nothing to do with. He begged for my oatmeal however, so I decided to let him have a few bites. Maybe 1 hour later and he had maybe 5 or 6 hives on his face and his eyes were all swollen. I can only hope that it was not a reaction to oatmeal, considering that would likely be a wheat allergy, which I would want nothing to do with! Scary stuff, so I pray it was just a cooincidence. I don't particularly want an epi-pen in my purse in my future.
Our first stop of the day was the Evesham Library for their little "party" to end the summer reading program. Tyler was quite excited with his tattoo, hand paint, and sand art.
From there it was off to Salad Works for lunch. We had a nice lunch and we appreciated the air conditioning.
Then it was off to Freedom Park for Medford's summer reading program party thing. They had snacks and a magician and Tyler had a ball. Jason managed to choke while drinking water. And he was really tired. I ended up driving around the town with him so he could try to nap while my mom stayed with Tyler. I didnt' mind considering my car is air conditioned. It was HOT outside. Jason did not nap.
We came home and all rested. I even napped with Jason, who desperately needed some sleep and it wasn't happening in the crib. Then all of us (myself, the boys, my parents, my brother Chris, and my grandparents) went out to Chick-fil-A for dinner and kid's night.
We came home and all started to get ready for bed. It occured to me that it was the second to last night of the movie in the park in Medford, and depending on the weather and next week's acitivities this might be my very last chance to bring Tyler. I have wonderful memories of going to the movie in the park when I was growing up. We were even allowed to pick out a piece of candy at 7-11...I of course always picked a sugar daddy because it would last the whole movie. Anyway, I wanted some special time with Tyler so I decided to push bedtime WAY back and head out to the movie after I put Jason to bed. The movie was Madagascar 2, which he seemed to get a kick out of. We ate popcorn and snuggled in the warm summer night. About 45 minutes into the movie Tyler announced he was sick. According to him he had a fever and potentially a "candy allergy". Apparently there has been way too much talk of allergies in this house this week (related to Jason)! I tried to calm him down and have him drink water, but he really wanted to come home. No fever at all, and he fell right to sleep. Personally I think he was just overtired and potentially overheated...afterall I would have died if I insisted on wearing fleece pajamas!
