35 hours

On Friday Al left North Carolina to come visit for the weekend. Unfortunately he had car trouble (flat tire and then later issues with the bent rim) and a couple hours of delay and a couple hundred dollars and he had arrived. Okay, technically it was Saturday, around 12:30am. We eventually got to bed, and I was shocked to wake at 6:03 for the first time...because that was the first time Jason had woken. He decided to wait until a night I wasnt' getting much sleep anyway to FINALLY sleep through the night! What a big boy.

Eventually Al came out to the living room and Tyler was sooooooo excited. After some cars, lincoln logs, and coloring Al left for some special time with Tyler while I put Jason down for a nap. Al and Ty went to brunch and then to the junk yard to get a tire to replace the damaged one so that he could drive home. After tire installation, later in the day, we all went down to the lake for some fun.

We had pizza for dinner and then walked the boys down to The Sand Stand for ice cream. Al even let Jason try a lick, which he seemed to like, but obviously we didnt' let him have more. We walked to beach 1 and let Tyler play on the playground as they set up for Canoe Carnival. I was sad to see the lack of activity for the big canoe carnival day, as apparently most floats had been destroyed in last week's storm. At least I didn't have to feel guilty about not bringing Tyler.

After the boys went to bed Al and I head out for a date. We went to see a movie, for probably the first time in 2-3 years! We saw The Hangover, which was great. Later we grabbed a drink at PJs.

The next morning was tough for Tyler. He was upset that Al had to leave, and he didnt' have too much time with us before heading off around 11:30.

35 hours. Lots of fun in a short time.
