Not a dud!

Saturday morning we went to some garage sales. Tyler has been going to garage sales since he was a few weeks old. He's pretty used to them. However on Saturday we finally taught him some of the garage sale lingo.

Dud: Any garage sale that has nothing worthwhile to purchase. If the words depression glass, or "antiques" are in the listing, chances are we aren't gonna find much we need. Tyler would describe anything that has "only girls toys" as a "dud" but at least he's getting the idea now.

Bonus Sale: Any garage sale we find in our travels that doesn't happen to be listed in the ad-lines. Especially exciting if the bonus sale is not a dud!

Anyway, Saturday brought some duds our way, but we did have a few very important purchases. First off, Tyler has a sorcerer Mickey stuffed animal (known as "Wizard Mickey") which he must sleep with every night in NJ. We found an exact replica of that, only larger, brand new with it's tags. We got that $40 stuffed animal for a bargain price of $2. He is coming home with us. Tyler is in his glory. We got a few books as well, but most importantly we got Tyler's first pair of roller skates. We happened to find a pair of brand new skates, in the box, for $2. At the next sale we found a used pair for $.25. So Tyler is now the proud owner of a pair of roller skates for use in FL and NJ!

Immediately after getting home from the garage sales Tyler wanted to try out his skates. After a bumpy start, he took off. He LOVES them!

Of course it isn't always all fun and games! Maybe some knee pads are in our future!

You should take him to some of those preschoolers summer skate sessions at Skateland this summer when you get home.

Hooray for roller skates (but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with garage sales that advertise depression glass!) What can I say?--I'm a little old lady on the inside.
