After a gorgeous day on Saturday, Tyler's birthday party day on Sunday (the 15th) was not so nice. And of course his party was to be held at Beach 3, obviously outdoors. Unfortunately the weather forecast for Monday (our potential raindate) was worse, so we decided to go forth with the party. We did last minute errands and Tyler helped me to decorate cupcakes (he loved the umbrellas).
Unfortunately the rain didn't stop in time for the party, but luckily it wasn't too bad. Light drizzle. We tried to pull of the sunny beach day theme, with leis, themed balloons, signs, etc. The kids didn't seem to care about the weather though, happily playing in the water. There were also other activities to entertain them, such as a dolphin ring toss and sack race. Meanwhile I know the parents, or at least me personally, were happy that the rain helped cool the insanely hot temperatures we had been dealing with. We had pizza, chips, popcorn, a pretzel tray and juice and soda. Thankfully the light rain cleared probably within 1/2 hour, which we were thankful for. We even got our beach umbrella cupcakes (a hit with the kids) and ice pops done before it started to drizzle a bit again. We quick did goody bags and the pinata before some kids started to leave. We even ended up opening a few presents there before packing up and heading home. In the end, it wasn't what I had hoped for at least weather-wise, but Tyler declared it "the best birthday party ever" so it was a success!

What a super fun looking party!!!!!! And I love your beachy cupcakes!
Happy Birthday Tyler! Looks like the weather didn't even put a dent in the party. Glad he had the "best birthday party ever".
