Our last day in Disney had arrived...which also happened to be Tyler's big 6 year old birthday! After happy birthday hugs and singing we got ourselves packed up and checked out of the hotel. We had reservations for a late breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Tyler had been most excited about this, and our experience did not disappoint. We all loved all the breakfast choices and the characters gave us lots of special attention. Donald Duck signed Jason's stuffed animal and Mickey signed Tyler's, which they both thought was pretty cool. They also of course had their autograph books signed by all the characters. Ty even got a birthday cupcake and an extra dance session with goofy (and possibly another character??). We had a great time and it was the perfect end to a wonderful vacation.
After breakfast it was still pouring, with no signs of it stopping in the forecast. We were all pretty tired too, so we decided to get on the road and head back to NJ. Luckily the beginning of the ride went fairly smoothly.
On the way home we had been trying to arrange a meet-up with Al, which we were finally able to arrange. We met at a Waffle House for a brief visit late at night. The upside was that we were there for Tyler's actual birthday minute. We had a brief meal and then Al had to get on the road so we got back on the road as well.
It was a long drive, and my dad drove the majority of it himself. I give him kuddos for that. But I decided that a drive to FL won't be in my future again. Really, really happy to have arrived at home.
As you can see, we were all tired.
