On Friday we went all the way to the grocery store (okay, 15-20 minutes) because Tyler was signed up for a kid's scavenger hunt, grocery store tour, and snack activity. Turns out that only 4 kids had signed up. One had cancelled the day prior and just before it was supposed to begin a mom called that her son had swine flu, so she would not be bringing either of her children. I was very appreciative that we were not exposed to swine flu, but it would have been nice not to waste our time either. So they gave us some materials and then we did some quick shopping.
Around lunch time Jason had his 9 month appointment. Weight was 22lbs 1oz, height of 27.5 inches. They were not concerned about his lack of babbling and eating, which were my main concerns. Apparently he's probably just concentrating on his physical skills for now. I'm apparently just supposed to keep trying to give him foods and eventually he'll stop gagging on them. I guess we'll see. The other issue discussed was his sleeping patterns, or lack there of. According to the doctor, some "tough love" is in order. He got one shot and apparently his ginormous thighs help him out in this area...he was totally unaware he got a shot, smiling and cooing away to the nurses. That about sums it up.
Later I got word that Al had passed jump school (yea) and was on his way to New Jersey (double yea)!
The afternoon was spent back at the beach. Getting to be a regular activity here!

Don't feel bad. Our pediatrician gave us the "tough love" lecture for the boys when they were all of two months-old, and I thought the guy was a total Nazi. I have to say that it worked, though. We did the same thing with the Evil Queen.
