On Sunday we decided to use our season passes and head on over to the safari at Great Adventure. Due to Al's ankle, we couldn't really go through Great Adventure itself, plus Al doesn't have a season pass, so we were able to sneak Al in the car to get us all into the Safari! Also due to the ankle I got to be the chafeur! LOL.
Tyler loved being able to be free of the carseat and sit in the front of the minivan going through the safari. He navigated via the map, seemingly unaware that I had to follow the flow of traffic (on the lone single road) anyway. LOL. Al loved being able to watch the animals with Jason in his lap. Tyler had fun. Jason thought any moving animal was pretty interesting. He also thought they all "woof"ed.
After the drive-thru portion of the safari we went to the exploration center. It was really nothing special. Just bones of animals and some reptiles in tanks/cages. Well, I guess it was interesting to Tyler. The highlight was the small monkey they had out with a zookeeper. It was adorable. In a diaper and all!
Then we went on over to the closest McDonald's for some food and fun. Goodness that place felt nasty though. I'm so spoiled by my Chick-Fil-A!
We had a peaceful trip home (Jason slept), quickly came home to regroup, and then went over to my grandparents house. My aunt and uncle and cousins were visiting from NY, so it was nice to catch up. Jason was very good, despite being very tired. Tyler was amused outside with the kids the whole time, aside from eating time. What an easy and relaxing visit!
