Tyler and I both had dentist appointments on Friday. My mom came and watched Jason in the waiting room while we went back together. Tyler, if you remember, is very anxious about the dentist. At his last appointment they barely got his teeth brushed, let alone cleaned well. He just freaked. Today he watched my whole examination and cleaning and then got in the chair himself. Actually, he did not want to get in the chair, so that was an issue in itself. Thankfully the dentist was great with him and a few jokes and some glove/balloon animals later he was comfortably in the chair. He tolerated the examination just fine and even accepted teh cleaning. Total meltdown though when they tried to do the flouride treatment. They said it wasn't imperative, so hopefully he'll do better with that next time. Speaking of next time though, he will be seeing a pediatric dentist to have 2 cavities filled. We knew about them at his last appointment, but due to his extreme fear they wanted to wait until he would tolerate the dentist better. He did much better, but isn't ready for a filling as usual yet, so we'll hopefully keep a good opinion of the dentist and bring him to a separate facility for the filling. They'll likely have to put him under. Fun stuff.
Oh, as for me, I have a small cavity. Not surprising after 9 months of puking and midnight snacking in bed throughout my pregnancy.
