Wednesday, after taking Tyler to camp, I met some friends at Conte's again, this time for peach picking. Sherry was there with her 2 youngest girls, and a friend of hers was there as well with her son. Jason had a great time eating donuts before our wagon ride. He enjoyed the wagon ride as well, but was less than pleased with the actual peach picking, due to the knee-high grass for him. He was very bothered by it, and I ended up having to hold him for a good chunk of the time. He did succeed in picking a peach or two and was very helpful in putting the peaches in the bag. Afterwards we walked back and visited the horses before purchasing our peaches and other produce from the store. We then got some hotdogs and had a nice little picnic lunch. Check another thing off the list of "just Jason" activities. Feeling good about my usually neglected child. LOL.
Tyler came home from camp, very happy to show off his award he got for "cutest laugh". LOL.
He was quite excited to finally hang out with the girls, who had just woken shortly before he came home. Within a short time someone had decided that the 3 of them wanted to go to the lake. Due to the fact that Jason had occupational therapy, my mom brought them down. Now as some of you may know, I've been working for a long time on trying to get Tyler to swim. I finally realized about a week or two prior that he was actually doggy paddling in the shallow end (without touching) but was petrified of going where he couldn't reach. I had offered various bribes and such with no success. Well, apparently all it took was 2 cute girls and the offer of ice cream that night (which we had already planned on). Maybe an hour after they got there I got a text saying that Ty was in the deep end! Apparently he was still pretty leery and didn't explore too much, but I was soooooooo proud of him!
After showers there was a little time for playing. Its amazing how long BOTH of my children will sit there and lace things. They are in love with the girls. And Jason is becoming quite the little lacer. LOL.
That night we decided all the kids might think it would be fun to try out a restaurant we had heard about, The Pop Shop in Collingswood. We lucked out with timing that it happened to be the last Wednesday of the month, which is kids karaoke. The Pop Shop is a diner a suppose, described as "your neighborhood soda fountain & more". It had a HUGE menu (actually quite overwhelming) with fun options and kids meals. We all found something yummy to eat, while listening to kids sing song. Lots of girls singing Taylor Swift. Eventually my cousin Lauren convinced her sister Abigail to get up there and sing. They did a great job singing "fifteen" (yes, more Taylor). Eventually, during dessert, they did "firefly". Never convinced Ty to get up there, but he had a ball. Oh, and speaking of dessert, they were HUGE!!
That night my mom helped introduce the girls to Yatzee, which soon became a big hit. Meanwhile I had to go upstairs in the garage and continue to unpack boxes in a frantic attempt to find some missing stuff I need for our upcoming camping trip.
