So on Friday (yes, only a week ago in blogging land) after camp closing ceremonies we head off for Great Adventure. We had wanted to take the girls while they were here, and Friday looked like the best day weather-wise. Also Mackenzie had a free pass to use from a book challenge at school, and it would be expiring in a week so she decided to join us. We ended up having myself, my mom, Tyler, Jason, Lauren, Abigail, Beth, Erich, Mackenzie, Olivia, Jim, Cara, Katy, a friend of hers, and Aiden. Big group! We took a while to all meet up, but once we did the kids all had a blast. It was really crowded, but luckily not as hot as it had been. They did a little roller coaster, and then Lauren and Abigail and Mackenzie tried out the big wheel where you suction to the walls while the rest of us waited for Jim and gang. Afterwards my mom stayed with Olivia and Jason (and Katy was off with her friend doing a big coaster) while the rest of us finally got a chance to go on The Congo River Rapids. Tyler was a big hesitant, but ended up loving it and bugged me the rest of the time to go on it! From there it was some other little rides and the log flume. Eventually Jim and his family had to leave and we ended up splitting up a bit so my mom could bring Lauren on Superman. Eventually we all met back up, and the most of us tried out a new ride for us, The Dark Knight. Tyler was petrified of the little movie they showed prior to the ride, but the actual coaster in the dark proved to be fun for him. Not sure what all else we did, but we ended up with a final trip on the river rapids to end our day.
When we finally got home we dropped off my mom and Tyler at Beach 3 so Ty could cheer on his camp counselor Brooke in the Miss Medford Lakes pageant. I got Jason to bed and the girls showered and eventually I met back up with them at the lake. Tyler was sad to see that Brooke did not win, but was happy to play with his friends at the lake. Another late night for all of us!
