murphy's fun day

Saturday was hot....like summer day hot. We were outside at maybe 8:30am in shorts while helping my dad out with clearing out some trash in the backyard.

After a quick shower it was time for Tyler's t-ball pictures. After a long wait we were on the way out, with Jason and Tyler holding hands. Sooooo cute! I'm still loving seeing him actually hold hands!

Afterwards my mom and I took the boys to Murphy's for their "fun day". Later Beth and Erich met us with the girls. It was really uncomfortably hot, but it was a nice event. Free face painting (my 5.5-yr-old got a rainbow while my 1.5-yr-old got a snake...LOL), free balloon animals, and other cheap stuff which was all to benefit the Lion's Club. They did a little fishing game, moon bounce, firetruck, food, etc.






Afterwards we had plans to go over to BCC for their "family fun day", but it was just too hot and Jason looked really overheated. We made the decision to skip BCC and head on home.

After the cancelled BBC event Jason had a quick nap and then we hit the lake. Tyler and Mackenzie had a great time together playing in the water and on the beach. Jason got a little more brave with the water as well (maybe a little past his ankles). We also spotted the mama duck with her ducklings (we pressume the one we saw the day prior at her nest). Too cute. The ducklings weren't too fast so we were able to get up quite close. Actually I'm sure we could have gotten closer than we did. Tyler and Mackenzie were surprised to see their old friend Penelope who had moved a few months ago, but was back visiting her grandparents who still live here. For dinner we ordered pizza and my mom delivered it, so we had a nice long afternoon/evening at the beach. Great way to spend the rest of our HOT day!
