Easter Sunday (very picture heavy)

The Easter Bunny arrived! Both boys were thrilled with their finds!

After emptying the baskets and getting dressed it was time for egg hunt, umm, 14??? Spoiled little kids! Tyler of course was all over it. Jason spent the whole time collecting eggs, but refused to use his basket, but instead chucked all his eggs in a pile. LOL.

Later we went back to Jim and Cara's for Easter brunch. We got to experience some of Cara's family traditions, such as Easter pies (yummy) and lamb cake. We had a nice relaxing time, and were even joined by some of their friends (which happen to be our neighbors).

After Jim and Cara's we came home briefly to pack up the car and then head to Atlantic City. Jason napped nicely during the drive and woke up in time for check in. He really enjoyed the view from our room on the 42nd floor.

Tyler had packed him own bag after begging to do so. I packed his clothes and told him to pack his own suitcase with whatever he thought he needed but just to remember his toothbrush. Well, this apparently is what made the cut. LOL. Some highlights: Easter snowglobe, "daddy pillow", brown blankie, 2 stuffed Eeyores, his own toothpaste, and his handprint kit from when he was a baby (what????)

We then decided to head out on the boardwalk and down to the ocean. It was absolutely gorgeous. I found it nearly impossible to fathom that it was spring break in NJ and we were at the ocean! Both boys loved playing in the sand and searching for shells. Excuse the billion pictures of Jason, but I just love the sweater (awesome garage sale find)!

After the beach we walked back up the boardwalk towards Showboat. Two statements that confirm that your 5 year old has spent way too much time in Atlantic City
1. "Mommy, do we have to pay for dinner, or did Mom-mom play enough games to earn us free dinner"
2. "We're going to Showboat, right? Is that the one that is connected to House of Blues?"

We had a very nice and relaxing meal with everyone (Jim, Cara, and her 3 kids met us) at the buffet at showboat. All kids were cooperative, conversation was good, food was yummy, and Jason even ate! The child stuffed his face (slowly of course) for over an hour, ending with an ice cream cone!

From there it was a quick walk on the boardwalk, taking in the sights (and, in Jason's case, talking to the birds)

Then we hit the pier for rides. Tyler and Aiden enjoyed quite a few together. Jason even did a little boat ride, laughing yelling and clapping all the way.

Eventually it got too cold for some of the kids, and Jason had signed "sleep", so we went back to the room. My mom went to play a little in the casino, while I stayed back with my dad to try to get the boys to bed. Tyler fell asleep fairly easy, but Jason had other plans. The pac-n-play was outright refused, but I had hoped he'd fall asleep in my arms at least. After 1.5 hours I found myself with a snoring father, snoozing Tyler, and Jason toddling through the hotel room laughing. At that point I packed up our stuff and my dad escorted us out of Atlantic City. Jason and I came home, leaving Tyler with my parents to enjoy the morning there. So, even though it wasn't successful in the end, we had a wonderful Easter!
