Say no to the grass!

Every Friday my highschool History teacher would say this to us on our way out of class, I suppose as a reminder not to do drugs. He was an odd man, but likeable. Anyway, that statement came to mind today as I found, yet again, more lingering Easter basket grass. That stuff has a life of it's own! So, next Easter, I will remember the words "Say no to the grass". I urge you to do the same! LOL!

Yes, as you can tell, I'm still in cleaning mode! I got some stuff listed on ebay last night, and in a few minutes will start taking pictures of some more stuff to list tonight. I love getting rid of stuff. So freeing! Is this a sign of mental illness?

cleaning house

Well, after WEEKS of barely getting by in the cleaning department, I now have some motivation. As I mentioned, yesterday, we scrubbed the lanai floor. I also hosed down the the walls and such to remove the dirt and cobwebs. Next came washing down Tyler's kitchen, including giving all the play food at nice bleachwater bath in the tub. I even found energy to clean the grill, which was disgusting.

Today, after Tyler's nap, I cleaned all the framework in the lanai with cleaner. I also spent the majority of his naptime clearing out some old clothes, organizing them, and photographing them to go on ebay. Tyler is now playing with his clean kitchen in the lanai, as I type away, but shortly he'll be getting ready for bed and I'll be listing some stuff on ebay.

I know this is just utterly fascinating, but considering I've barely been conquering laundry and dishes, this is huge! Now if I could just get my house CLEAN, I'd be set!

photos!

As promised, I'm back with photos. Unfortunately I forgot to get my mom's pictures on my computer before she left, so some of these (the Disney ones) are just ones that she had taken with her phone and sent to me.

Let's see...where to begin? Well, I guess I last really updated on Sunday after Easter. So, on Monday, after preschool, we bribed Tyler (with McDonald's) to get his hair cut. That evening, after dinner out at Outback, we went to the drive-in (which I did discuss), but here is a photo:

On Tuesday, after preschool, we drove to Downtown Disney. My mom still has a pass, but my dad and I do not, so she brought Tyler into Disney Quest while my dad and I people-watched on a bench out in the sun. Tyler enjoyed himself. Afterwards we head over to Animal Kingdom Lodge and hung out for a while, viewing the animals, until it was time for our reservation at BOMA. Dinner was quite good, and Tyler was sooooo well behaved (thank goodness). Then we left for Fort Wilderness campground to go roast some marshmallows (one of Tyler's favorite things to do) before Chip & Dale came out to start the sing-a-long. Afterwards we stayed for part of 102 Dalmations, until I decided that Tyler wasn't quite ready for that movie yet.

On Wednesday we drove down to see my grandparents again, and this time we hit up Nokomis beach, right by the pier. It was a beautiful day, although it was a bit chilly for me when the sun went it. Tyler was pretty fascinated by all the shells. I found amusement in a pick-up truck that was parked in the lot, with it's bed full of grapefruit. Attached to the side of a truck was a written sign that said "free, grapefruit, free". Well, who can pass up free? I now have 4 grapefruit in my fridge!

On Thursday Tyler and my mom had their special day in Disney. Meanwhile I had a special dentist appointment (NOT) and then my dad and I had some important errands at Lowe's and Home Depot. My mom often sent photos of Tyler (via the phone) enjoying various rides/attractions. Not to be outdone, I sent a photo of my dad and I in Home Depot. Obviously a fun time was had by all! And obviously we are all finding way too much amusement from our new cell phones (with required media plan for the first month)!

On Friday we didn't too much in the morning, well, unless you now count the hours upon hours of boardgames that Tyler coerces my mom into playing. Well, Friday was no different! That afternoon we did go to Ruby Tuesday's for lunch. That evening my mom and dad watched Tyler so that Al and I could have a "date night". We ended up seeing 21, which I was pleasantly surprised with. We had a great time, meanwhile Tyler had tons of fun at the miniature golf course with my parents.

Today was, sadly, time to say goodbye to my parents. To ease the pain of their parting, I decided I had to distract Tyler. I decided it could (to a 3-year-old) be fun to scrub the lanai floor (to remove the paint that he splatters on the floor while painting at his easel). I was right, he was in his glory. Meanwhile, I am now beat!

Date night!

My parents have been trying to get Al and I out on a date night since they got here a week ago. We've either been a) too busy, b) working (okay, that would just be Al), or c) too tired. Well, tonight it's happening! We're going to go see a movie and maybe grab something to eat afterwards. I'm so excited!

When I was pregnant with Tyler (at least during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters) we probably saw 2-3 movies a month. I was in love with movie theater food, so we'd make a meal of it. It was probably the first "food" I ate after having had lots of nausea. So, movie dinner dates were sorta our thing then. So, with any luck, movie theater food will appeal to me tonight. Buttery, fattening popcorn, here I come!

The saddest realization though was accepting that I have NO idea what movies are playing, let alone knowing what movie I'd want to see. I even went so far as to ask my on-line friends, who gave me a few suggestions. I was slightly amused to see that I'm not the only one completely out-of-touch. In fact someone recommended that I see a movie that's not even in the theater. LOL!

Anyway, hopefully by tomorrow (or at least by Sunday) I'll do a picture post to fill you in on all the fun things that have been happening here. Geez, Tyler spent a whole day in Disney with his mom-mom yesterday and I have yet to even mention it. I am slacking!

how NOT to have fun

Take a 13-week pregnant person and sit her in a dentist chair. Ummm, fun. I had no idea the human body could produce so much saliva. However, I was happy to hear that this pregnancy (so far) hasn't done any damage to my teeth, since I was concerned about that from the vomiting. My gums are a little extra sensitive, but that's to be expected. I do get the fun task of picking out a children's mouthwash/rinse the next time I run to the store. Apparently my teeth would just love fluoride right now. Bubblegum flavor, here I come!

Not a true Floridian

Well, I assure you, although I've been here almost 2.5 years, I am in no way a true Floridian. Tonight we heard a very loud boom. Meanwhile our house shook. My dad went out immediately to "investigate" while I did some searching in the house to see if, hmmm, maybe my bedroom had collapsed or something similar to have created such a loud noise/vibration. A minute later my neighbor (also not a Floridian) called, and she was obviously scared. She had heard the same thing, so we weren't crazy. Come to find out, it was the space shuttle Endeavor's landing. Well, actually it was the "sonic boom" when the shuttle re-entered the earth's atmosphere (or something along those lines). Pretty cool in reality. When I later posted about this on my playgroup's website, it became obvious that this is a "normal" occurrence for those who grew up here. I would NEVER hear a loud noise and feel a vibration and just assume it was a "sonic boom". You don't feel sonic booms in NJ! Just today, as I wore my long sleeve shirt on the beach while my visiting family donned their bathing suits, I was contemplating whether maybe, just maybe, I was really acclimating to this Florida thing (I did not agree that 74 was truly beach weather). I apparently needed a sonic boom reminder to bring me back to reality! I am NOT a true Floridian. LOL!

Just checking in

Last night we (my parents, Al, Tyler, and I) went out to Outback. It was the first time I ate close to a real meal out in the past month or so. I enjoyed myself, even though I couldn't eat too much. Tyler was too full from the bread and stuff he pulled from my dad's salad to eat much dinner, aside from his mashed potatoes.

After dinner my mom and I took Tyler to the drive-in to see Horton Hears a Who. It was a pretty cute movie, but the best part was just listening to and watching Tyler enjoy the movie. How can you not laugh when you hear a 3-year-old bust out in a true belly laugh. He enjoyed the popcorn and getting to sit in "grown-up seats" in the car. It was a nice night.

Today Tyler had preschool and now we're grabbing a quick lunch before heading to Disney. Since my dad and I don't have passes we'll just be walking around Downtown Disney for a couple of hours. Afterwards we have reservations, with my mom's friends, at BOMA. Yum. After that, weather cooperating, we'll be heading over to Fort Wilderness campground to do the sing-a-long and marshmallow roast with Chip and Dale before watching 102 Dalmations on the big screen. Should be fun!

recap, Easter 2008

I just thought I'd do a photo recap of yesterday's festivities, since I didn't get a chance to do so last night.

First we woke up, where Tyler discovered that the Easter Bunny had eaten the carrot he left for him, and in turn had filled his basket with all sorts of goodies.
After playing and eating candy, he pretended to nap before heading to my grandparents house. Once there he checked out the orange tree, only to discover it now has flower buds and baby oranges. Very exciting.
After a delicious meal, it was time for Easter egg hunt 732. Or maybe it was #4. Either way, he was happy with his loot (this time it was jelly beans).
Photo opp: Tyler and his GREAT grandparents (aka: G-G.mom and G-G.pop)
After some delicious dessert (or so I was told...I couldn't fathom eating it) my dad and I took a walk with Tyler to blow off some of that sugar high. We came across this.
Yes, that's a real live alligator, within 10 feet of where we were standing! It was happily sunning itself by a small pond.
Then it was off to the beach for some playtime.
Topped off by viewing a gorgeous sunset.
All in all, a wonderful day!

Happy, Happy Easter!

The Easter bunny apparently arrived last night, leaving Tyler quite the loot. I had had ENOUGH of candy, so his basket was heavier in other items (puzzles, coloring book, etc.). He did get some candy, but luckily was distracted enough to not consume too much of it. Currently he's "napping" (not likely actually true) and then we're off to my grandparents for Easter dinner. Should be fun. Hopefully I'll be back later with pictures!

Getting ready for Easter

Aside from all the toys that Tyler had to show my parents today (they played non-stop) there was still time to ready ourselves for Easter.

First we had to do some baking.
Then we dyed some Easter Eggs. Attempt one wasn't so successful with the "rainbow dye" kit. Liquid dye in a pouch is not such a good idea.
Thank goodness we had the old standard dye cups lying around, so we did some traditional Easter egg dying. That was fun!
Then we made some Jello Jigglers.
Last, but certainly not least, we enjoyed them!

Lizard Sandwich

You have to love the sense of humor in children. Today we were outside playing "kitchen" in the lanai, and Tyler was making food for everyone. All of the food combinations were interesting, to say the least, but nothing beat the dinner Tyler made for my dad. A roll, some lettuce, a plastic lizard, some cheese, and then the bun top. YUMMMM!

12 weeks today!

I know some resources give different dates for the beginning of the 2nd trimester, but I'm going with today darn it!

In celebration I made a babiesonline page for the new baby, so feel free to check it out here.

I also will now allow myself to wear maternity clothes, but since it's yucky out I ended up in yoga pants and a t-shirt anyway. Maybe tomorrow.

Symptoms are still in full-swing, but I do get more of a break from them than I used to before. As I recently explained, before I had bad days and worse days. Now I have bad days and tolerable days. Unfortunately today is a bad day, but emotionally I'm doing pretty good.

28 weeks to go!

Freecyle

I like it. It's a nice concept. You get to give away your unwanted stuff, because there is pretty much always someone out there who wants it. You would be shocked how many people responded to me when I offered an inflatable palm tree. Yes, a freakin' inflatable palm tree. There is truth to the statement "one person's trash is another person's treasure" (or whatever that saying is).

In case you are new to the concept of freecycle, you would post a message to a message board that says something like "OFFER: boys 2T clothes" and people will e-mail you if they are interested. It's up to you to decide who you would like to give your item(s) to. Saves landfill space and sorta makes you feel like you did a good deed. Or at least for me. I'm not much for getting stuff from freecycle, but am no means above it. It just seems like there are not often things that I would need or want. I did once get a case for Tyler's Leapster, which I was VERY excited about. Saved me $15! Like I said, cool concept, especially as we all try to live in a more eco-friendly world and embrace the concept of recycling.

Anyway, back to my point...if you can consider this a point.

If someone is OFFERING you something for free, don't you think you would at least try to seem appreciative or grateful? I can not believe how many people will write back to me with the response of "interested" or "can I have this". If it were ME I might try to use the words "thank you" or "greatly appreciated" or something along those lines. I try to overlook spelling errors (even though you would think most people could spell "interested") but I have trouble overlooking rudeness. Is it too hard these days to be polite?????

Cute Easter Bunny? NOT!

Has anyone ever encountered an "Easter Bunny" that didn't look scary? Why is it that they all look as if the bunny trail was lined with cocaine?

Anyway, Tyler had his preschool Easter party today. He had a blast at the egg hunt, and then a little candy bribe got him to sit next to the bunny for a split second. He's busy stuffing his face full of sweet tarts, and I'm hoping against hope that he'll somehow still nap for me this afternoon.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Ah, yes, a day to celebrate all things green. Not that I'll be indulging in green beer this year, but it's always nice to have an excuse to do so!

Tyler celebrated the day in preschool with green crafts and green food. And of course he had to wear his only green shirt, complete with shamrock beads and lovely plastic hat.

And today would not be complete without a flashback to one of my favorite pictures ever. St. Patrick's day 2005. Awww, my little chubby Irish one!

Exciting pregnancy news

I have nails! Now don't get me wrong, I realize that these barely qualify as fingernails, but to me they are the best I've ever had! Gotta love prenatal vitamins and pregnancy hormones. Now if they could just manufacture a pill to thin my hands out (I have the fattest hands/fingers) and manicure my nails for me, I'd be set!

I finally let Al bring my maternity clothes out of storage tonight. I won't be wearing them just yet, but at least I can start washing them and get an idea of what I have that still fits this time around (which may not be much).

He knows!

I completely forgot to mention that we went ahead and told Tyler the big news on Thursday night. Al has been dying to tell him, whereas I've been on the fence, but I'm a little scared that he'll hear it from someone else, which I really don't want.

Anyway, we talked about how some of his friends have brothers and sisters and that soon he'd be a big brother too. Al said something about a baby being in mommy's belly, to which Tyler replied "that's silly". Obviously he doesn't get it (I imagine it's quite a foreign concept to a 3-year-old) but he seemed really excited. He wanted to know how many days until his brother or sister would be here. I told him "a lot, like after you turn 4". That answer was not acceptable. He wanted to know how many DAYS. I told him, about 200. He says "okay, maybe like one hundref, because that's not too bad". LOL.

BTW, he wants a "baby sister".

crisis averted

Last night we had a bit of a crisis in the Eline household. You may ask yourself, what epic event occured? Is everyone okay? Well, this is what happened.
Now you may say, "Uh, it's a blanket". Yep, that's right. It's a blanket. But not any blanket. It's THE blanket of all blankets. It's Tyler's one and only "yellow taggie blankie". He's had it since birth and he cannot sleep without it. So, now you may say "Uh, so you obviously didn't lose the blanket. What's the problem?". Well, this is the problem:
Still don't get it.
Yep, the sacred tag, the one rubbed every night until sleep becomes him, had fallen off. Thank god we found it. I then performed "blankie surgery" and, to the best of my ability, re-secured "taggie" to "yellow taggie blankie". As you can see, life is good again.

Doing a happy dance!

Today I had an OB/GYN appointment. I'm 11 weeks today. Yes, I know I've already seen the heartbeat and, in theory, have nothing to worry about. But this is ME we're dealing with. I worry. LOL. Since I had been feeling better the past few days I had some concerns, but honestly I did have a pretty good feeling about it. Anyway, back to my point.

They were unable to find the heartbeat with the doppler. She said it was just too early and they'd check again at my next appointment. Then, she must have had second thoughts so she said "Hold on a sec. Let me see if I can get a room". She came back, told me to hurry, and rushed me into another room for a "quick peek ultrasound". When I say "quick", I mean quick. So quick in fact that someone else's name was still on the machine and someone was waiting outside the door for us to finish. But thank goodness....we saw a baby with a strong heartbeat! 11 weeks down, 29 to go! Aaahhhhhh, I think I can start to relax now. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Note to self

Do not ever publicly announce that you are "finally feeling a bit better". It will come back to bite you in the ass.

three cheers for St. Patrick's Day!

Now that I'm finally feeling a bit better for the past few days, I finally indulged in something I've been looking forward to all year...shamrock shakes from McDonald's. They are only out, obviously, around St. Patrick's Day. I knew they had been out for a least a couple of weeks but they, like any other food/beverage, sounded entirely unappealing. Well, on Sunday we were out at Walmart when the urge hit me to get a Shamrock shake at the McDonald's located inside the store. It was soooo yummy. Of course I couldn't finish it, but I threw it in the freezer and finished it this afternoon. Ah, so refreshing. Gee, I surely hope they keep them around for at least another week or so after St. Patty's Day!

My little competitor

Today was Tyler's preschool's "Olympics". Apparently it's the 26th annual Olympic event with all the other local programs. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a wonderful event! Tyler had an absolute ball, with activities ranging from tricycle relay races to potato sack races. According to Tyler, his favorite was the parachute and the hula hoops. In actuality, he loved them all. There really was no competition per say, and I was just proud that he truly gave every one of them a good effort. I had half expected him to refuse to even try some of them. Boy was I wrong! At the end of the event he, along with every other child, received a medal. He is sooooo proud of himself!

To anyone in the area, check out Fox news tonight. They were there, along with a few other news channels, recording the event. Fox though seemed to give our group the most camera time. Tyler's class is the one with the camouflage shirts.

Darn time change!!

Okay, I've read all about WHY we still do the time change, but why must no one consult me on this decision?

Last night I put Tyler to bed at 8:15, which is a little early considering it was still 7:15 to him, but not too early. I figured he normally goes to bed at 7:30 or so, so at least we'd slowly wean him back to a normal bedtime. Wrong. He was up talking to himself, making excuses why he couldn't sleep, coming out to go to the potty, and more until sometime after 11:30. 11:30!!!! That's late for him, not even considering the time change. Anyway, I thought to myself "good, at least he'll sleep late". WRONG! 7:10. Hello, that's 6:10 to him.

Mommy is not a happy camper.

Darn you, time change!

The wants and desires of a 3-year-old boy

So, you might expect that a 3-year-old's wish list would include things like matchbox cars, legos, drums, transformers, or some other seemingly "normal" toy. Not my boy. Nope. So, what do you think it is he wants? Go ahead, take a guess.

A freakin' space bag. Seriously. Almost every day he asks me if we have space bags. I've questioned him WHY we would possibly need space bags. The answer, directly from the source, "I want one because I can feel the airtight zipper and vacuum out the air". I've asked him WHAT he'd do with a space bag, and he tells me he would store blankets "or someping". LOL! So, of course he asked us to buy some today in Walmart. I told him maybe Santa would bring some next year for Christmas. I swear if he's still asking for them 9 months from now, for goodness sake he's getting some under the tree. LOL.

His other recent desire is a pancake puffs pan. He thinks they would be "yummy". You can simply "pour and flip". Oye.

Can you tell the child watches too much TV these days?????

Bounce!!!

Today Tyler had a birthday party to attend for his little friend (and our our ex-neighbor) Ashlyn. It was at a place called Pump it Up, which is an inflatable bounce place. I KNEW Tyler would be iffy about this, at best. He's not the most adventurous child, which isn't the worst thing in the world, but it does make new activities a bit overwhelming at times. We spent 45 minutes in the first bounce room, in which Tyler refused to bounce in anything. We were able to ease him over towards the equipment where he patted the inflatables (like drums). Umm, I guess that was a step in the right direction. The next 45 minutes was spent in a different bounce room. This time Tyler was pretty willing to get near the equipment and enjoyed watching his daddy in there, jumping around like an idiot. Eventually I climbed in and was able to coerce him in (truth be told, a candy bribe was involved). Once he got in he LOVED it! He did never really do any of the obstacle course stuff, or slides or anything, but he had a ton of fun bouncing and shooting baskets. Of course by then there was probably only 25 minutes left of bounce time so he wasn't nearly ready to be done by the time was up. However, as soon as he realized cake would be in the next room, he didn't need too much convincing! So, he immensely enjoyed his icing (he never seems to eat the cake part of the cupcake), juice box, and treat bag. We came home and Al let him try to blow off some steam outside. Luckily now he's already in bed for the night, due to the combination of bouncing and the abbreviated nap he took (due to the party). Phew, that means I get to head to bed anytime I want to as well. Which is good, because I discovered that bounce parties aren't the best destination for pregnant women.

As a cute side story, this morning Al went out to get McDonald's breakfast, and as he drove home he spotted a garage sale. In all actuality, he would never WILLINGLY stop at a garage sale, but he spotted electronics. Anyway, he bought this ridiculously huge computer (not the monitor or anything, just the main computer part...the proper name of which escapes me right now). He brought it home "for parts". Great, more junk to keep around. Anyway, Tyler always wants to help whenever Al works on stuff like this, but he's quite limited in what he can do, for fear that he'll damage it. Well, Al had no intention of keeping the casing of the computer, so he figured he'd let Tyler "help". He loosened all the screws and Tyler, quite proudly, undid them all. He kept yelling to me "Mommy, I'm being a big help. I'm good with a screwdriver". We both couldn't contain our laughter when he announced "Daddy, I love you. Thank you so much for letting me screw with you.".

oh, the drama

Remember a while ago I posted about my nut-job neighbors whom I had to call the police on? If not, perhaps this blog will refresh your memory. Anyway, long story short, my neighbors have a few screws loose, if you ask me. I don't appreciate living near them, to say the least.

Well, you may also recall, the same day I posted about the police call, I also had to call the police earlier in the day due to my car being vandalized. Again, this blog should cover the details if you don't recall my story.

The fact of the matter is, I always thought the neighbors may have had something to do with the break-in. Not necessarily them themselves, but one of the lovely individuals they choose to spend their time with. Of course there was no way of proving it, but the theory lingered in my mind. So, out of the blue yesterday, a police officer came knocking on my door. Basically he questioned the comings and goings of certain vehicles and what I seemed to know about the neighbors. He was only here briefly when he received a phone call, related to whatever incident they were investigating, asked a few questions, and said this would not be the end of us seeing him.

This morning I get a phone call from a different neighbor, asking if I had any information on the arrest from that morning. Ummm, the arrest? I knew nothing! She told me that her husband witnessed at least 2 men being arrested at the nut-job house around 1:00am. So, of course I got nosy, and I posted about my situation on my playgroup's website. A few people gave me information as to how I could obtain the arrest logs (public record), and my friend Melodie did some kick-butt detective work and found the record for one of the arrests. Turns out it was a female, who just happens to LIVE in the nut-job house. Although it is public record, and although I am tempted, I will not post the link to the arrest record....but I will sum it up a bit for you. She was being held on a $22,500 bond for the following counts:

DEALING IN STOLEN PROPERTY

BURGLARY OF AN UNOCCUPIED DWELLING

GRAND THEFT THIRD DEGREE

FALSE INFO ON PAWNBROKER FORM

Anyway, of course she was ALREADY released, and I still don't know any details about the men that were reportedly arrested. There may be ZERO connection between this arrest and the fate of my long-lost but beloved GPS, but it is one of those things that makes you go hmmmmm? But there's my juicy gossip for the day. Aren't you just soooooooo jealous of my neighborhood? LOL!

Here goes

Although I'm too nervous to set up a babiesonline page, like I have for Tyler, I figured I'd at least get started with my belly pics. So, here's the first one, just as I did with Tyler, at 10 weeks! Not as pretty as last time around, but at least I can log my progress just the same.

As for the stats, I'm down 7.5 lbs (which I guess is fine considering I started this pregnancy 20lbs heavier than I did with Tyler...ugh). My symptoms are coming and going a bit, but still remain. My next appointment is a week from today. Hopefully we'll get to hear the heartbeat. Keep your fingers crossed! If all goes well we might just break the news to Tyler!

Wednesday, March 5, 2008

You have been forwarned

Tomorrow I will post my first belly shot with this pregnancy (as I did when I was pregnant with Tyler). 10 weeks tomorrow. Beware!

My American Idol Recap

I haven't posted American Idol stuff in a couple of weeks, so I thought it was about time.

I LOVE the guys. The girls are a different story (I doubt you'll see me posting about them tomorrow..they don't do as much for me).

So, for me it's a tie between 3 of them, maybe 4....but all for different reasons. For which I will now discuss:

David Archuleta: He's just so darn cute. Not cute in a "I'm attracted to him" type of way, but in, "awww, he's so cute". And damn, he's good! I absolutely loved his rendition of Imagine last week. I was tempted to pay for the iTunes download, and I've NEVER done anything like that related to Idol. He wasn't as great this week, but he's consistently good. He better be in this thing for a while.

David Cook: He was my favorite from the top 24. There is something edgy about him that I just like. Plus, I must completely disagree with Simon, I LOVE that he admitted to being a "word nerd" (I believe that was the term). What girl does not like a guy who knows his vocab? Totally hot! And I really appreciate that he actually changed up the songs a bit. Makes it interesting.

Jason Castro: Okay, I was a little embarrassed to admit this one, but I just like him. I think he's cute in a quirky kinda way. Sorta like that fun, carefree guy you used to hang out with in high school. I think he kinda reminds me of my brother's friend "Sloth", if Sloth could sing. He's likable, in a funny sorta way. Plus, I really like his voice. Plus, how could you NOT like the song he sang tonight? He's always been in my top 5 pick, but tonight won me over.

My 4th pick is probably Michael Johns. What can I say, I'm a sucker for an accent. Plus, I like the kind of music he always picks.

I would like to reiterate, as I said the first week of the top 24, Luke Menard must go. NOW!

My apologies

It has come to my attention that my blog is too focused on vomit these days. When I titled this blog "my life, my blog", it was because I was determined to not just write about Tyler (not that I don't write about him, that would be impossible...he,he). I wanted to write about ME and what was going on in my life. Unfortunately now, sometimes nothing is going on in my life at all except the side-effects of this pregnancy. Sometimes it just takes over. Believe me, it takes restraint not to type about it EVERY day.

So, if I've offended other people with my posts, for that I am sorry. But I have come to the conclusion that you just can't please everyone. But, for once in my life, I'm not trying to. Okay, at least I'm trying to tell myself that, lol! This blog is about ME, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I contemplated NOT discussing the ugly stuff going on in my life, but what would be a journal without it? I contemplated putting a warning on posts that may not be pleasant, but really, should I censor my own blog? Anyway, my point is, bare with me, because I'm hoping to have happier things to report in the near future. Until then, if you don't like it, I'm sure you can find better things to read!

P.S. This is not meant as a criticism to anyone, by any means. It's just partially based from guilty. You know, feeling bad that I offended people (and or bored them). And, admittedly, I'm overly hormonal and a little defensive.

You learn something new everyday

1). According to Tyler, he doesn't do "crafts" or "work" at preschool, he does "paperwork".

2). You can actually vomit through your nose. Great to know, huh?

3) Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles is the most useless show I've ever seen. Try convincing Al of this.

4). Those little plastic bags you kept in your purse for containing used diapers, such as these, can be re-purposed as barf bags to have handy at all times. Beats having a bunch of store plastic bags in your purse.

Hippity Hoppity, Easter's on its way

Okay, I know Easter is 3 weeks away, but we're in the spirit now! Today our play group had it's annual Easter Party. Andrea was gracious enough to host, and a wonderful time was had by all! After a napless morning, Tyler fueled himself on sugar for the rest of the day. He participated in a fun easter egg hunt and then stuffed himself silly with fruit, a cupcake (or, should I say, the icing), and 2.5 cookies! Piggy! The craft was a hit, and then he had fun playing in the sandbox and playing on the swing set with the rest of the kids. Thanks, Andrea, for a wonderful afternoon!

when to accept defeat

When does it become appropriate to accept that you are not handling this pregnancy well and just suck it up and ask for some medications? Originally I told myself it was fine because at least I seemed to only get sick when my stomach was too empty. But that's not the case anymore, and I just feel completely wiped out. Ugh!!!!
